The Seven Days

One practice each day. That is all.

  1. Day 1

    BreathPrāṇa

Return to the breath — the first teacher, always waiting.

    Practice · 5 minutes
Sit comfortably. For 5 minutes, breathe in slowly through the nose for 4 counts, hold gently for 2, exhale for 6. Feel the belly rise and fall.

    Mantra

    So · Hum

I am That — the breath itself is the mantra.

Reflect: Where in my day do I forget to breathe deeply?

  2. Day 2

    MantraJapa

Give the mind one sacred sound to rest upon.

    Practice · 10 minutes
Repeat 'Om Namah Shivaya' or simply 'Om' quietly for 108 counts (about 8–10 minutes). Use a mala, your fingers, or your breath.

    Mantra

    ॐ नमः शिवाय

I bow to the auspicious Self within all.

Reflect: What quiets when the mantra begins?

  3. Day 3

    GratitudeKṛtajñatā

Turn the heart toward what is already given.

    Practice · 5 minutes
Before sleep, write three things you are grateful for today — however small: a warm cup of tea, a stranger's smile, your breath.

    Mantra

    Om Purnamadah Purnamidam

That is whole, this is whole — from the whole, the whole arises.

Reflect: What did I overlook today that was actually a gift?

  4. Day 4

    SilenceMauna

Let the noise fall away so the inner voice can be heard.

    Practice · 30 minutes
Take 30 minutes of complete silence — no phone, no music, no talking. Walk, sit, or do simple chores. Just listen.

    Mantra

Silence itself is the deepest mantra.

Reflect: What did the silence say that words could not?

  5. Day 5

    Selfless ServiceSevā

Move from 'what can I get?' to 'what can I give?'

    Practice · One act
Do one small act of service today expecting nothing in return — a kind message, help to a neighbor, a donation, or simply full presence with someone who needs it.

    Mantra

    Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

Reflect: How did giving feel different from receiving?

  6. Day 6

    Self-InquiryĀtma Vichāra

Ask the one question that dissolves all others.

    Practice · 10 minutes
Sit for 10 minutes. Ask gently: 'Who am I?' Do not answer with the mind. Feel the question. Let the answer arise as a wordless knowing.

    Mantra

    Ko'ham?

Who am I? — the question of the Rishis.

Reflect: What remains when every label is set down?

  7. Day 7

    SurrenderŚaraṇāgati

Release the grip. Trust the greater intelligence carrying you.

    Practice · 10 minutes
Sit before a candle or open window. Name one thing you have been gripping — a worry, a plan, an outcome. Offer it: 'Not my will, but Thine.' Rest for 10 minutes.

    Mantra

    Om Shanti Shanti Shantih

Peace in body, peace in mind, peace in spirit.

Reflect: What lightened the moment I let go?

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः

When the seven days end, the practice begins.

This challenge is not about becoming someone new. It is about remembering the one who was always here — quiet, luminous, present. Return to any day whenever you need it. The path is not a line; it is a spiral home.
