In moments of fear, doubt, illness, loss, or transition, simply remember the Guru and the mantra he has given you. That remembrance itself rekindles the protection. You are not chanting alone. The Guru's consciousness becomes your refuge, his blessing your invisible armor, and the mantra the living force that guides your steps home.

"Can't I just pick a mantra and chant it?"
You can. But then you are working only with your own limited willpower. When a mantra is given through authentic initiation, three things change forever.

Does initiation have to come from a Guru?
Yes. Dīkṣā (initiation) is not an administrative transaction — it is a spiritual awakening, and it requires one who can:
- Scan your energetic makeup to see which deity and frequency your karma is asking for now.
- Take a formal sankalpa — a sacred vow — at his shrine, in your name.
- Transfer prāṇa (life force) directly into the bīja (seed sound), so that the moment you chant, it resonates deep within.

A word from the heart
Grace is never for sale. Sevā (service) has a cost.
In our tradition there is a strong and unbroken consensus: a true Guru will never put a price tag on initiation itself. Dīkṣā (initiation), blessing, and the awakening of a mantra are given — they cannot be bought, because a commercial transaction is contrary to authentic spiritual transmission. What passes between Guru and seeker is grace (kṛpā), and grace has no price.
So what is the contribution for? Not for the blessing. It is a dakṣiṇā — the age-old offering a seeker places before the teaching so that the teaching may continue for others. It carries the hours of chanting and computation done in your name, the lamp oil, incense and shrine offerings, the team who prepare and deliver your material, and the free work this sustains: the free readings, the daily teachings, the seekers who write to DhyaanGuru and can pay nothing at all. Most of all, it goes into the sustenance of the peaceful world — spreading stillness, service and sacred wisdom to those who need it most.
